Objective
Be the first player to score 121 points by combining cards to form runs, pairs, flushes, and combinations that add up to 15.
Gameplay
- Deal: Each player is dealt 6 cards. Both players discard 2 cards to form the crib.
- The Cut: The dealer cuts the deck to reveal a starter card that's used for scoring.
- The Play: Players alternate playing cards, trying to make combinations that score points during play.
- The Show: After all cards are played, players score their hands using the starter card.
Scoring
- 15: 2 points for each combination of cards that add up to 15
- Pairs: 2 points for a pair, 6 for three of a kind, 12 for four of a kind
- Runs: 1 point per card in a sequence of 3+ cards
- Flush: 4 points for 4 cards of the same suit (plus 1 if starter matches)
- Nobs: 1 point for a Jack of the same suit as the starter card
Tips
Try to keep cards that can form multiple combinations (like 5s that can make 15s with 10-value cards). When you're the dealer, sometimes it's worth putting good cards in your own crib!
